Beverly Beach State Park, Oregon

Laura and I love being around the water, so when the opportunity presented itself to rendezvous with Monica Mack (my sister) and Linda Smith on the coast as they headed home from being out several weeks in their motorhome, we didn't have to be asked twice.

Our destination was Beverly Beach State Park, Oregon, just north of Newport. Heavily wooded, big rig friendly, and an easy walk to the beach. With no WiFi, my fallback to my phone didn't work either because the park is situated in a cell phone service dead zone (no data, no voice). I did find that the parking lot near the entrance got OK service, but the really good service was back out on Hwy 101 pulled off in one of the pullover spots for viewing the beach and ocean. It made the process of working from the motorhome more challenging, but not impossible.

We were in site D6 and Monica & Linda were next door in Site  D8.  I'm showing off my pink flamingo gift from Monica and Linda.
One of the surprises at Beverly Beach was running into PYC members John and Glenda Wilson as they worked themselves home after a month out in their Newmar motorhome enjoying the coast of California and Oregon.
Except for the lack of connectivity, the park was awesome with lots of big rig friendly sites.

Laura is drawn to tide pools where ever we go.  These are at Agate Beach.
The tide pools were full of things to see.

The beach has custodians who help make sure folks don't damage the tide pools, and they also hand out laminated cards to help guest spot creatures.

The whale watching was easy with sightings about every couple of minutes.

Monica Mack buying a paper.  Now we know why this wasn't any connectivity in the campground, they wanted to sell newspapers.
The iconic Newport bridge.
Despite the beautiful setting, we decided that having no connectivity for doing things like researching places to visit or even booking dinner reservations, just isn't for us, so the next time we visit we'll stay at the Newport Marina's RV park with the free WiFi. The RV Park has easy bike access to the south jetty, and launching the kayaks should be a breeze.

The Central Oregon Coast was fun to visit and share with Monica and Linda. The next day we parted company as they headed home to California and we continued our trip north to Rockaway Beach, Oregon.
