Halyard Bags

Brown factory original halyard bags.

The halyard bags that came with the boat were completely functional, but who at Catalina Yachts promoted the use of brown Sunbrella.  At first, I thought the brown was unique to my boat, but then I started seeing it in photos of other boats.  This was a pretty easy sewing project

After looking at a few examples online, I created my own pattern.

The pattern for halyard bags.

The bag was created in the following manner:

• Fold "1" over "2" and iron the seam
• Place an 11" x 1 " strip of sailcloth between "1" and "2" for the back
• Fold "2" over "A" and iron the seam
• Stitch a seam 1/4" away from the two longs edges of "A"
• Fold "3" over "4" and iron the seam
• Fold "4" over "B" and iron the seam
• Stitch a seam 1/4" away from the two longs edges of "B"
