Roof - Recoating

It had been two years since I had recoated the motorhome's roof using Henry 687 Elastomeric Roof Coating.  I still had more than three gallons remaining from the original five gallon bucket.

While the roof wasn't nearly as dirty as when we purchased the coach, it still required a stiff scrubbing to loosen the dirt prior to recoating.  The scrubbing was followed up with a cleaning of the sides of the motorhome to avoid any streaks.

I used blue masking tape along the sides, and then cut in everything with a brush.  After cutting in, I poured the coating  over a 3x3 area to be covered, and then rolled it out.

Cleaned and ready for cutting in.  The lighter white patches shows the difference between being freshly cleaned and being touched up with new coating.
Cutting in took longer than rolling out two new coats.  It was a warm enough June day, that I got all the work done in less than four hours.

Two new coats looking forward.

Two new coats looking aft.

I might have used just a little over one gallon in the two coats.
